Our Mission:

"The Lighthouse Ministry is committed to assisting teen parents in pursuing their education by encouraging them and providing a safe, nurturing environment for their children."

The Lighthouse Ministry Daycare began as just a dream but through the actions of Jean Iwankowitsch, who had a vision for reaching out to teen parents in the community, it soon became a reality.

In January of 2007, her vision began taking shape. She met up with other members of the community with the same passion and goals and collaborated their ideas to get the ball rolling. Through much research, time, and committment they started gathering the tools and knowledge needed to begin taking steps toward making our daycarea reality.

Our Board of Directors was established in September of 2007 and the process officially began. The Ligonier Presbyterian Church donated the upstairs of the church for our mission.  Through teamwork, prayers, and a lot of hard work the upstairs of the church was transformed into the beautiful space we now call the Lighthouse Ministry Daycare!

We officially became a state registered ministry in 2008 and opened the doors to teen parents in August of 2008.
